Phone systems
Phone systems overview
What Clad does with your calls, what it receives, and how access is scoped and revoked.
Clad connects to your phone system so that client and carrier calls are captured alongside email. After a call ends, Clad receives its details, recording and transcript, links the call to the right client, and follows up on what was discussed.
What Clad receives
| Data | Used for |
|---|---|
| Call details: participants, phone numbers, direction, start time, duration | Matching the call to a client and to the employee who took it |
| Recording | Reviewing the call when a transcript is unavailable or incomplete |
| Transcript, and your phone system's call summary where available | Capturing what was discussed and the follow-up it requires |
Clad works with the recordings and transcripts your phone system already produces under your existing call-recording settings.
How Clad connects
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| You grant access | Your phone system administrator creates a credential for Clad in your phone system's admin console. |
| You choose who is included | You tell Clad which users or lines to include. Clad subscribes to call events for those users only. |
| Calls arrive as they finish | Your phone system notifies Clad when a call ends and when its recording and transcript are ready. |
| Clad checks for anything missed | A scheduled check picks up any call whose notification did not arrive. |
All connections use HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher. Clad stores the credential encrypted in your Clad environment and uses it only to read calls for the users you choose.
Managing access
- Add or remove users: tell your Clad contact. No new credential is needed.
- Revoke access: delete Clad's credential in your phone system's admin console.
